In all Seriousness though, I grew up in a small town -- very small. I have an older sister and brother (by 10 and 9 years respectively) and we have four cousins with which we were raised like siblings. My mom, aunt Debbie and uncle Jerry, and all the kids have always lived within a few miles of each other. In my late teens the clan started moving around to various points on the small tract of land between Portland, OR and Bridgeport, WA (the small town). However, everyone still lives within an 8 hour drive of each other -- except me.

I'm the black sheep of the family; I always wanted to live in New York City. In my mid-twenties I moved to Minneapolis, MN for a job. I met my wife, got married, and then we moved to NYC. A year later we moved to Portland, OR; a year after that we moved back to the Twin Cities, and now (5 years after that) we have moved to Las Vegas.

Since meeting my wife, I've traveled roughly 58,000 miles throughout this country by plane, train, automobile, and Budget Moving Vans. Trains are, by far, the best. I've spent a couple of weeks in Costa Rica and a week in the Virgin Islands; I am now in love with the Caribbean.

I attended the University of St. Thomas, which was amazing and really helped re-shape and define the person I am today. I could not have asked for a better university experience.

I like to have long deep conversations, and I spend a lot of time in contemplation on myriad subjects -- mostly political, theological, sociological, and environmental. Anyway, you can find out more about me as you read the blog  ;)
